  • Overview

    This position is a member of the Product Development Team and is specifically responsible for design, performance and interpretation of experiments in support of Oxford Immunotec’s product development

     

    Overall responsibilities:

     

    1. Working closely with the Development Manager, responsible for experiments that are designed and conducted in line with overall product development strategy within Oxford Immunotec.
    2. Acting as a functional member of workstreams within the Oxford Immunotec Project management system.  
    3. May have to undertake occasional supervision of new members of the team
    4. Carry out ODL routine testing laboratory operator when required

    Primary Responsibilities

    1. Conduct and record keeping of experiments as defined by workstreams.
    2. Ensuring that work is completed to agreed timelines.
    3. Ensuring that any likely delays or issues with a given project are communicated to their supervisor in a timely manner.
    4. Travelling to internal and external sites at short notice to ensure project milestones are met.
    5. Prioritising workload to ensure key objectives agreed with supervisor are met in a timely manner.
    6. Ensuring laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated.
    7. Performing duties in other departments, e.g. ODL routine testing on an occasional basis to meet critical Company objectives as required.
    8. Supervising the work of new member of the team as required.
    9. Presenting data at internal and some external meetings as required.
    10. Ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with the Company’s Quality Management System and to the required Regulatory standards.
    11. Ensuring that conclusions written in experimental reports reflect the data presented and reports are of high quality.
    12. When required, operate as a scientist in support of running of ODL, ensuring that the Quality Management System, including ISO 9001:2008, ISO 13485:2003, and ISO 17025:2005, is adhered to at all times and in all aspects of the job.
    13. Carrying out literature reviews to a high standard.
    14. Working to Oxford Immunotec’s company values at all times.

    Qualifications

    • At least a MSc Degree or Equivalent in a life sciences subject or at least 3-4 years relevant experience
    • ELISPOT
    • ELISA
    • Flow cytometry
    • Cell culture
    • Critical assessment of data
    • Knowledge of cell activation

    Knowledge of Windows and Office bases applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
