Overview

The primary focus of the Regional Business Development Manager is to educate the existing users about wider application of the test. The users consist of our distributor, sub-distributor, clinical reference laboratories and individual hospital/clinics, qualify prospective leads to develop new business partnerships; and engaging in the execution of our new marketing strategy in different clinical segments.

 

He/she will act as the expert in China to build up our market intelligence, and present new business opportunities proposals for the future growth of the business.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Fully understand T-SPOT technology and its positioning among other TB diagnosis methods.
  2. Build knowledge around epidemiology, identification, control/treatment around tuberculosis and other infectious diseases necessary to engage in the sales and marketing activity of T-SPOT.TB.
  3. Develop and implement business plan to engage with current customers, business partners and new opportunities to promote T-SPOT.TB test and other upcoming new tests.
  4. Build up and maintain existing end users & distributors database in the assigned regions.
  5. Conducts robust market segmentation and targeting analysis for target market(s) driving new business; Develops new channels, ensures long term optimization of channel mix by geography, product groups and market segments.
  6. Create and update new end users and business partners data base.
  7. Understand customers buying process, channels and pricing structures.
  8. Attend conferences and other events to support promotion and clinician engagement.
  9. Effectively communicate product information and clinical data to customers as necessary.
  10. Understand customers’ needs, provide suggestions and support the development of promotional materials with the marketing team.
  11. Performs continuous competitors’ analysis, develop competitive scenarios (threats/trends) and apply appropriate tactical competitive approaches to build a short & long-term competitive advantage in target market

Qualifications

Educational and Working Experience Requirements:

  • Medical / Life sciences degree is preferred
  • Over 3 years working experience in China in the marketing of pharmaceutical, medical devices and laboratory diagnostics industry. Positions in Business Development or Marketing/Sales roles are preferred
  • Track record of dealing with healthcare professionals (including physicians), and key stakeholders in product selection
  • Fluent in English is preferred.
  • Candidates with up-to-date knowledge of key developments related to infectious diseases and transplant medicine, including diagnostic and therapeutic trends and competitive clinical landscape is preferred

Other requirements:

  • Involves significant domestic travel, as well as some weekend travel required.
  • Participation in evening meetings and events will be required.
